Working of FTCH

A boiler boils water for a central heating system, which then sends the water through pipes to radiators in different rooms of your home. The heat from these heaters slowly warms up each room to the right level. It also gives you hot water for the sinks, baths, and faucets all at the same time. When the water cools down, it goes back into the boiler to be heated up again. This starts the cycle all over again. Through this method, the whole house stays warm and there is hot water. It also makes better use of energy.

What are the Eligible Heating Systems for the ECO4 Grant?

You may be able to get government funding for central heating if you still use any of the following old heating systems:

What does FTCH grant cover?

The ECO4 program looks at every way your home may save energy.  This is what you get with this free subsidy for central heating:

How much can you save with the FTCH grant?

Households can save a lot of money on their energy bills each year by moving from an old or broken heating system to a new central heating system.  Families can save between £300 and £600 a year on average, depending on the size of the house, how well it is insulated, and how it is currently heated.  You don’t have to pay the high upfront cost of installation, which can range from £4,000 to £7,000, in addition to lower expenses. The grant covers all of this.  This implies that you will get instant financial relief, save money in the long run, and have a home that is warmer and uses less energy.

Improve EPC rating with First Time Central Heating Grant

The First Time Central Heating Grant pays for the installation of a new central heating system for homes that don’t already have one.  Homes with low EPC ratings (E, F, or G) benefit the most since central heating makes homes far more energy efficient.  These government grants for central heating minimise energy bills and save money in the long run by cutting down on heat loss and fuel use.  A new central heating system also makes your home more comfortable by making it warmer and healthier.  The subsidy can also raise the value of your home by improving its EPC rating and making it more appealing to purchasers or renters.

People who own homes or rent them out in the UK and have never had central heating before, have an EPC rating of D–G, and meet income or welfare requirements.

As long as the ECO4 program is in place, you may still be able to get renewable heating systems like air source heat pumps instead of mains gas.

If you put in central heating and then took it out again, your home might not be qualified.  The reason for this is that it is no longer seen as a "first-time" application.

It can take anywhere from two to five days to install after approval, based on how big the property is and how complicated the system is.

Qualifying systems include gas central heating systems, air source heat pumps and other authorised energy-efficient heating solutions.

Your installer will look at the property records and do a survey.  The FTCH grant may not be available for the residence if there is proof of a previous system.

Yes, insulation (like that found in lofts or cavity walls) could be necessary to increase efficiency prior to the installation of a new central heating system in many cases.

Yes, all three of those countries can participate in the system.  Currently, it is not available in Northern Ireland.

The Energy Company Obligation (ECO4) scheme of the UK government pays for this.  It says that companies that sell energy have to pay for improvements that make it better to use.

The ECO4 program, which pays for these incentives, will continue until March 2026, but funds may not always be available if government regulations or energy provider priorities change.

Yes.  With ECO4, the government helps pay for all of a home's central heating costs.

Yes, sometimes, especially if the family doesn't make a lot of money or meets the standards set by the local government.

We had a new boiler fitted and loft insulation. The workmen were very polite and left the work space clean and tidy. I couldn't quite believe how easy the whole process was, and quick too. Thankyou so much. My house is finally warm.

I had a really old back boiler that needed to be replaced. From booking the survey to the installation, everything was done very quick and professionally, they even tidied up after themselves and called after the installation to see if everything was all okay for me - great care given and also a free boiler - would highly recommend!!

Angie

Excellent from start to finish, we had someone come out, approve the grant & complete the work all within 2 weeks! It would have been within 1 week but we wasn’t available until the 2nd week. All work done to a high professional standard, everything was left clean, so glad we came across this company. It was super easy & all done from a grant which was very much appreciated.
